AKAS Templers has a lot of features and capacity for hosting elite horse events (large & small) and Big Crowds. Then around the Arena there is plenty of space to park the truck/float, setup camp, have a panel yard and use the amenities. Our aim has been to ‘make it like we would want to use it’… easy, convenient and professional.

Rules & Regulations
All persons arriving to AKAS Templers must sign an online waiver, this includes children. If not completed the gates will not be unlocked for you.
Follow all posted signs, rules, and staff instructions. Do not use or enter any of the paddocks/yards or areas sectioned off, unless permission has been given by the club you are with or AKAS staff. Do not use or enter any of the Private Buildings, paddocks/yards or any areas sectioned off, unless permission by AKAS staff.
Arena closures for maintenance or weather will be posted in advance when possible.
Respect all time limits and scheduled events. After-hours access is not permitted unless previously arranged.
No tying horses to fences, gates, or panels that are not intended for that purpose. Use designated tie up areas.
Consumption of alcohol or drugs is prohibited by law before or during your ride/lesson/handling horses, including professionals. There is no smoking near the agisted horses, communal areas (including the Arena) or inside any buildings, and if you do smoke please do not leave your butts on the ground, there are ash tins provided.
Any and all animals on the property of AKAS Templers is to be treated kindly and appropriately. If AKAS staff deem any dangerous or unkind behaviour occurs, you can and will be asked to leave, and possibly reported.
Stallions – are not to be ridden by anyone under the age of 18 years at any time. Stallions must be enclosed in panels or securely tied and hobbled. During daylight hours stallions may be unrestrained in panels. Panels must be at least 1500mm high with a minimum of 4 bars constructed of a minimum 25mm box or pipe. Panels must be securely anchored to a solid object. At night stallions must be double-tied.
Dogs – are allowed, but must remain on a leash tied to your vehicle, and not allowed to roam free, and or go into any other area except carpark, all dog poo must be picked up and put in manure pile.
Cattle – If cattle are on the property, you must not engage with them unless you have been allocated with cattle handling duties. If a club/instructor are using cattle for an event/clinic, an animal welfare person must be appointed, If you do not have one – AKAS Staff will appoint one for you. All cattle must be handled, transported, worked, and managed with respect, care, and in compliance with relevant animal welfare legislation and industry best practices.
All rubbish is to be placed in the bins provided or is to be taken home with you.
Please respect all property of AKAS Templers, and leave all areas used, in the same condition as you have found them, whatever equipment that you have got out to use – must be packed up to where it belongs.
Report any damage to property infrastructure and/or animals, and any safety issues that arise, to AKAS Templers staff member, immediately.
Lunging is not permitted in the arena please use the round yard.
All people must walk not run around the facility, as there may be cars, floats and other vehicles moving around that may not know that you are there.
All riders must wear ASA approved Horse riding helmets when mounted. Only exceptions are:- if you are at AKAS Templers – riding under the insurance of a club (that has it own rules regarding helmets that differ to AKAS Templers) or your own instructors insurance allows you to not wear a helmet. A saddle and bridle must be used whenever riding, unless discussed with AKAS Templers or instructor prior, and the horse is deemed safe, and still then – it is at your own risk to ride bareback or ride tackless.
All children under the age of 18 must wear helmets when riding on the property, and must have their own waiver signed by a guardian separately to that of the Adult.
AKAS Templers is a place of business and is under video surveillance at all times to protect its agistees and all property.
Please ensure that the arena, round yard and car park, has been cleaned of manure before you leave, and that you leave the space you are parked, clean and tidy. You can dispose of your horse poo and any hay waste, using the wheel barrows provided to put on the poo pit, or bring your own bag to take it with you. Fill in any holes before you go, if your horse decides to do some gardening for itself and digs.
